Course fee €300

Michael’s coaching sessions are the storytelling equivalent of Jedi training.
— Daniel Allison - storyteller and author

This course is now FULL but if you would like to hear when it runs again email me.

My name is Michael Harvey
I am a storyteller and storytelling teacher, coach, mentor and director. I have been helping people find their authentic storytelling voice and tell with conviction and joy for over twenty years.

This is the course for you if you have been telling stories for a while and want to make a leap into deeper and more satisfying storytelling practice. It is also ideal if you have a specific project you are working on and want a supportive atmosphere and input from one of the UK’s leading storytellers and trainers to really make your work outstanding.

I will teach in English but you can work in German for practice and telling. I have worked internationally for many years and have led storytelling training online and live in English for speakers of many languages including Italian, Polish, Gujarati and Cantonese.

Course Dates and Times: The sessions will be from 19:00- 21:00 CET on February 1, 8, 15, 22 and March 15, 22. All the sessions are recorded and videos and notes are usually available the following day on a dedicated, private student website.

This is what you get …

  • Six, two-hour long interactive and practical storytelling workshops in a cohort of around twelve

  • A number of tried and tested exercises and techniques that help storytellers find their own unique voice and style

  • Exclusive access to video recordings of the sessions and my guidance notes on a dedicated course website

  • A student accountability system to keep your momentum going and to develop the habit of practice

  • Access to a private Facebook group

Keeping on track
When you invest in your creative future it is important to do it in a sustainable way. In other words, from day one we need to be thinking about how we carry on our storytelling practice once the course is over. As well as whole group work we will be working in small groups and pairs. We will have an accountability scheme to keep the momentum going between sessions. Once the course is over the accountability system will stay in place so you have a network where you can carry on developing and deepening skills and becoming more spontaneous and authentic as your practice deepens. You will also be able to refer back to video recordings of the sessions and my notes on a dedicated course website.

Feedback from Professional Storytellers

"There's a big difference between a performer who tells you what they have learnt, and a teacher who makes a space for you to learn what you are ready to learn, and walks beside you while you do it. Michael is a true teacher."
Alice Torrance, professional storyteller

"Michael Harvey is a storytelling superstar.”

"He gave me tools, protocols and situations with which to explore the material, and ways of telling in the moment, to allow the story and the performance to unfold in ways I could never have predicted. The result was a real alchemical process, and a journey into perpetually new and exciting territory."
Dominic Kelly, professional storyteller

“Michael Harvey's storytelling coaching is phenomenal. I learned a lot about mastering the flow of story, and about marrying the different worlds to create a colourful tapestry which the story audience can see clearly. I really value Michael's natural, heartfelt, sensitive and inspiring way of coaching.” Nana Tomova, professional storyteller

"A quick note to say thank you again for coming to work with us and to let you know that our first show went amazingly well… the audience LOVED it and were so engaged. It was really exciting to imagine the potential. We went into a new gear - super responsive. Anyway thank you. I feel our day with you had a real impact on how we work together and the overall collaborative, creative process we are beginning to develop. The next day’s work together was so much richer."
Kama Roberts, professional storyteller and founder of Emergency Turtle storytelling company.

“One of the most radical and relevant pieces of training I’ve ever been on as a storyteller.” Tim Ralphs, professional storyteller
